Filicide Education and Prevention Association®

We Must Not Be Bystanders When We Witness the Cries of Others.

‎"He who does not prevent a crime
when he can, encourages it".
- Lucius Annaeus Seneca

The Filicide Education and Prevention Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity formed to educate the public about filicide and provide prevention and support programs to families.  According to the U.S. Department of Justice, a parent is the perpetrator in most homicides of children under the age of five. Similarities between mothers and fathers who commit filicide include depression, psychosis, multiple stressors, lack of social support, isolation and a history of childhood abuse.

There is hope. Parents with such risk factors can improve their circumstances and change the direction of their lives if belief systems about themselves are modified, appropriate trauma intervention takes place and non-judgmental support and validation are provided to improve their coping skills.

Please support and join our prevention efforts. Perhaps consider making a charitable donation. All community education programs are provided at no charge to the public.
